30.4.2014 Cambridge City 2 - 4 St Albans City Cambridge City team: Zac Barrett, Tom Pepper, James Brighton, Will Lawton, Lee Chaffey, Josh Beech, Robbie Burns, Adam Martin, Danny Kelley, Adam Marriott and Josh Dawkin. Subs used were Andrew Phillips for Dawkin and Ieuan Lewis for Burns. The Lilywhites welcomed back from injury Adam Marriott but were now without Kelvin Bossman through injury. On a pitch that it was hard to play flowing football, the Lilywhites found it hard to deal with the aerial treat of the bigger St Albans side especially at corners and long throws into the penalty area. They soon found themselves behind when ex Lilywhite striker John Frendo scored for St Albans in the 5th minute and things got worst when another ex Cambridge player (Steve Wales) scored St Albans second goal in the 23rd minute. Just into 1st half stoppage time they gave themselves a chance of getting back into the match when Danny Kelly beat the veteran former Cambridge United golkeeper, Paul Bostock, with a shot from outside of the box. Things again looked bleak when St Albans scored their third in the 50th minute but they did not give up. Adam Marriott then pulled one back and for a time it looked like they would be able to score a third and force the game into extra time. Though any chance of this was killed off when Sam Corcoran scored St Albans fourht in the 81st minute.
