Wroxham

Trafford Park, Wroxham

In 1996 the Lilywhites met Jewson League side, Wroxham at Trafford Park in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the F.A. Cup with the tie being one by the Lilywhites but only after a replay at Milton Road.

Founded in 1892, Wroxham had originally played in Wroxham Park before moving to The Avenue and finally a ground in Wroxham Park.

28.9.1996                       Wroxham 1 - 1 Cambridge City                                        2nd Qualifying Round                        Cambridge City team: Barry Piggott, Andy Pincher, Keith Lockhart, Steve Gawthrop, Andy Jeffrey, Andy Beattie, John Fowler, Wayne Goddard, Paul Coe, Chris Tovey and Ian Cambridge. No subs were used. The Lilywhites found themselves 1 nil down after 12 minutes before in the 42nd minute Ian Cambridge scored with a long range shot that gave the Wroxham goalkeeper no chance.

Subs used were Richard Chattoe for Jeffrey and Shaun Harringon for Tovey. The Lilywhites went in front in the 2nd minute with a goal from Paul Coe but could not kill over Wroxham until the 89th minute, when Harrington scored the Lilywhites second.
