Tooting & Mitcham

Tooting and Mitcham, who were regular opponents of the Lilywhites in Anthenian League, were founded folllowing the merger of Totting Football Club and Mitcham Wanderers in 1932. Though the first meeting between the two clubs was in the Addenbrookes Hospital Club. The have also met in the F.A. Trophy and the F.A. Cup.

Addenbrookes Hospital Club

16.10.2004               Tooting & Mitcham 2 - 4 Cambridge City                                        3rd Qualifying Round                   Cambridge City team: Alan Calton, Craig Pope, Lee Chaffey, Glen Fuff, Matt Langstan, Richard Scott, Rob Miller, Carl Williams, Dave Sadler, Jon Stevenson and Dale Binns. Sub used was Rbbie Simpson for John Stevenson. The goalscorers for the Lilywhites were Rob Miller, Jon Stevenson (2) and Dale Binns.

14.1.1978                 Tooting & Mitcham 3 - 0 Cambridge City                                          1st Round                                            Cambridge City team: Winston Dubose, Tony Rule, Neil King, Martin Murray, Melvyn Green, Dave Worthington, Malcom Keenan, Dave Spillane, Alan Doyle, David Lill and Peter Martin.Sub used was Steve Mahoney for Spillane. Two goals by Dave Juneman sealed the Lilywhites first defeat in 20 matches. Before going behind in the 16th minute, the Lilywhite's goalkeeper (Winston Dubose who was on loan from Southampton) had pulled off a number of excellent safes. 

20.12.1987               Cambridge City 3 - 1 Tooting & Mitcham                                          1st Round                                               Cambridge City team: Ian Ladley, Martin Gosling, Laurence Cullum, Phil Hubbad, Steve Roach, Terry Milbourne, Steve Lowe, Tom Finney, Gary French, Gary Grogan and Graham Daniels. Sub used was Mario Ippolitto for Cullum. After a goal less first half, the Lilywhites went in front when Terry Milbourne scored in the 47th minute. They went 2 up when Graham Daniels scored direct from a free kick in the 56th minute and not long later he provided the cross for Steve Roach to head home the third. Tooting & Mitcham scored their consolation goal in the dying moments of the game.
