Leamington

The New Windmill Ground

Though founded in 1891 as Leamington Town, it was not until 2009 that they first played league football against the Lilywhites, though the two clubs had met twice before in the F.A. Trophy. The first of these matches was in 1971 when they were known as Lockead Leamington, a name they were known by from 1946 until 1973, and secondly when they were known as A.P. Leamington. Their original ground, the Windmill Ground, was in Tachbrook Road. One of the features of the ground had been its floodlights, which had been previously at Manchester City's Maine Road Ground. In 1988 the ground was sold of for housing by Automotive Products Ltd and the club was disbanded until a new ground could be found.

Finally in 2000 the club was re-launched having purchased a field from a local farmer. The new ground being given the name of the New Windmill Ground.
