Maldon and Tiptree
Maldon and Tiptree, who the Lilywhites played in F.A. Cup in 2011, were formed after the merger of Maldon Town and Tiptree United in 2010, This was shortly after the Chairman of Tiptree United (Ed Garley) had purchased the Maldon Town Club and moved Tiptree United to ground share at Maldon Town's Wallace Binder Ground.
17.9.2011 Cambridge City 2 - 2 Maldon & Tiptree 1st Qualifying Round Cambridge City team: Zac Barrett, Alex Lacey, Jonathan O'Donnell, Dave Theobald, Lee Chaffey, Adie Cambridge, Neil Midgley, Robbie Nightingale, Craig Hammond, Lee Clift and Luke Robins. Subs used were Danny Kelly for Midgley, Joey Abbs for Nightingale and James Krause for Robins. Craig Hammond and Theobald scored for the Lilywhites.
20.9.2011 Maldon & Tiptree 2 - 1 Cambridge City 1st Qualifying Round Replay Cambridge City team: Barrett, Lacey, O'Donnell, Theobald, Chaffey, Cambridge,Liam Nicell, Abbs, Kelly, Clift and Robins. Subs used were Tom Burke for Robins and Krause for O'Donnell. Danny Kelly scored for the Lilywhites as they are knocked out of the Cup by lower league, Maldon & Tiptree, It was Danny Kelly's first goal for the Lilywhites.
In the the past the Lilywhites Reserve team played against Maldon Town in the Jewson League. They had been founded in 1946 and at first played at the Sadd's Ground on the causeway before shortly afterwards acquiring a new ground in Farnbridge Road. In 1994 they left Farnbridge Road for the Wallace Binder Ground in Park Drive.
Tiptree United, nicknamed the 'Jam-makers'. were founded in 1933 and played at Chapel Road in Tiptree before moving to ground shae with Maldon Town. They played in the Eastern Counties League.
