In front of a small crowd at Arlesey, there seemed to be more City supporters than those of the home club, the Lilywhites won thanks to first half goals by Andrew Phillips in the 33rd minute and by Will Lawton in the dying seconds of first half injury time. Playing for Arlesey was former City player, Kelvin Bossman who hit the post from a free kick outside of the box during the first half. City also had a shot bounce back of the woodwork, a shot from Danny Kelly that hit the crossbar. During the second half, in which City appeared to take their foot on the pedal, Lee Chaffey had a thunderous shot from well outside of the box fly millimetres past the post.
